Well, we tried. We tried really hard. But the ridiculous light bill in this house for electricity coupled with the city’s new policy of not giving you any extra time to pay the water/garbage/sewer bill before shutting you off *at all* “no exceptions” (and forcing us to pay them twice last month for the same bill), coupled with taxes and charges that aren’t taxes but are enforced and fined as if they were taxes, and other government bs has literally run us out of house and home. We can’t afford to pay the rent anymore. Or the water, the garbage, the sewer… and our car payment is now behind. And the car tag is due, the price is doubled what it was last year, and we can’t pay it. And and and.

I admit it. I’m feeling a little like leaving the country. I hate greed.

And we kind of feel bad for the landlord that we’re being forced to move things more quickly, but then again if people had just not treated us like garbage when we first complained about the ridiculous utilities he wouldn’t be having to find someone to replace us so quickly. (EDIT: He says he already has one interested person. Good for him!) He was a nice guy to work with, but some things you should take seriously – like when tenants tell you a light bill over $400 is excessive. We’re STILL trying to recover from that, and we had financial help on it. I can’t imagine what would have happened if we didn’t have any help.

So I’m packing to move as quickly as possible. We thought we had more time to do that in, but things are getting shut off (again) this month so I guess not. We don’t even intend to try with the city anymore. We were going to move anyway because my husband is being medically retired out of the military, but we were going to shift things more wisely than that. The government has ensured this can not happen. So my husband will be sleeping out of the car and on couches while waiting for the system to finally throw down his discharge orders, and I’m packing as quickly as I can trying to beat the utility clock. They can just send their final damn bills to where I’m going – too bad they won’t be applying our deposit to those final bills. They say they do things like that, but guys I’ve been around a long time with shit like this. They’re all liars.  (EDIT: City water/sewage have stated they will be applying our deposit for sure. Which is good cuz we can’t pay ’em.)

If they haven’t shut off the utilities by the time I’m ready to leave with my car all packed I’m going to have to hang around and make sure things get shut off. My credit report is simply littered with utility companies taking advantage of my leaving town to ream me. It won’t happen again. They’ve reamed us enough here.

I’m putting Heavenly Bride on hiatus until we get our acts together. I can’t spare any time to work on the next page at all. I’m too busy trying to get my clients wrapped up and things prepared. This hiatus may last a few weeks. It may last a couple of months. It also can’t be helped. We’re flat ass broke, beyond broke. Our bank book has been reading negative numbers for three weeks now.

When I can I’ll release “paid for” pages for Candidate readership but I can’t guarantee this will be on a regular set schedule. But I will try.

But to end this on a positive note, Heavenly Bride won’t be shut down permanently. And knowing me I’m going to be spending this entire time fretting and wiggling around, wanting to get more done. It’s just… I just have this thing in my face. Sorry!
